Based in Galway the company bringing a new dimension to PR and Marketing whilst also introducing a new service to the West of Ireland. The Strategic Relations service will specialize in all aspects of VIP relations for sports people and individuals in the spotlight.

Meet Caroline Downey

Caroline Downey, Director and Founder of Carried Away PR & Events has worked as a highly successful Sales and Marketing professional for 17 years.

Caroline is former student of Presentation College, Tuam. Caroline then continued on to GMIT completing a diploma in Business Studies. She then moved to Dublin to work in eircom whilst completing a degree in Marketing & PR in the Dublin Institute of Technology. Having spent 10 years in Dublin and meeting her now husband Barry a move back to Galway was on the cards. A passion for fashion lead Caroline to complete a diploma in Fashion Styling which has been very beneficial in creating ideas for PR campaigns and innovative events.

Caroline has worked in leading companies within their industry which lead her to work for one of Ireland's leading marketing and communications agencies. This finally cemented her love for PR and marketing where she has worked on award winning campaigns for some of Ireland's leading companies including Supermacs, Coca Cola, Coffee, Scholl as well as companies such as Catwalk Modeling Agency, Fallers Jewellers, Atak Sports and The Clayton Hotel.

Caroline's love all types of sports has built up a strong portfolio of contacts which became the brainchild behind introducing Commercial Sports agent to the West of Ireland.

Meet Barry Downey

A successful senior commercial executive with an exemplary career across a diverse selection of industries with over 16 years management experience.

An adaptable and pragmatic, strategic thinker who matches individual/groups with appropriate brands. Many examples where I have demonstrated the ability to build, motivate, coach and an age successful sales teams along with creating, new, sustainable business. Successful GAA background has also allowed me the opportunity to form many strong relationships along with a wide ranging network of contacts.
